Week 2 - When God Seems Late

 

Life doesn’t always go the way we expect, and we pray to God for help and purposeful guidance. ? Disappointment torments our souls and leaves us desolated and lonely. God doesn’t do what we've asked.??We seek Him, but don’t feel His presence. We go through pain, but our cries for relief seem to go unanswered. Sometimes, our lives just don't make sense.

Our next three weeks will cover topics on the delays and changes we sometimes experience when we surrender our lives to the purpose of God.

We need to approach the ____tension______ with ____honesty________.

Now a man named Lazarus was sick. He was from Bethany, the village of Mary and her sister Martha… 3 So the sisters sent word to Jesus, “Lord, the one you love is sick.” John 11:1, 3

TWO THINGS TO REMEMBER WHEN WAITING ON GOD

1) GOD’S _____Delays__________ ARE NOT NECESSARILY GOD’S ____Denials____________.

4 When he heard this, Jesus said, “This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God’s glory so that God’s Son may be glorified through it.” John 11:4

God’s timing is_____perfect_________ even if He seems to be a __few days late_________.

With God—____waiting_______ season is never a _____wasted__________ season.

17 On his arrival, Jesus found that Lazarus had already been in the tomb for four days. John 11:17

2) IF GOD ALWAYS ______Met_______________ YOUR EXPECTATIONS, HE’D NEVER HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO ______Exceed________ THEM

23 Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.” 24 Martha answered, “I know he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.” 25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; 26 and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. John 11:23-26

Jesus said, Take away stone! 43 When he had said this, Jesus called in a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!” 44 The dead man came out. John 11:43
