Children's Ministry
At Common Ground, we love children. But more than that, we love their families. Our goal as a Children's Ministry is to help build strong families. We believe that you will experience love, support and encouragement to build a home that looks more and more like Jesus each day. Early Childhood
In the early childhood area, we create a safe and loving atmosphere for your child to learn about who God is while partnering with your family. We do this with an engaging storytelling time, worship through music, and interactive learning centers.
We teach our youngest children these five basic truths:
- God Keeps His Promises
- God Wants Me to Obey
- Jesus is My Friend
- I Can Be a Helper Too
- Jesus is Always With Me
We provide families with the following tool:
• Weekly Interact card to help families create and see opportunities to build faith at home.
We group early childhood classes by the following ages:
- 0 – 2½ years
- 2½ – Kindergarten
Elementary
KidCity Elementary programs engage children and build a faith foundation by partnering with parents and providing small groups where children learn God’s Word and the importance of Christian community. During the KidCity large group celebration, we worship through music and communicate the Bible story in a fun and creative way.
We want every child to know these five basic truths:
- I Can Trust God No Matter What
- I Need to Make the Wise Choice
- I Need to Treat Others the Way I Want to Be Treated
- Jesus is Always With Me
- I Have a Role to Play On God’s Team
We provide families with the following tools:
- Weekly Interact card to let parents know what their kids learned and help foster faith conversations at home.
- NextStep baptism discussions that teach parents and children what it means to be baptized and encourage parental involvement in their child’s faith development.
