Academy of the Arts
In the fall of 2011, Common Ground Christian Church has decided to launch Common Ground Academy of the Arts. Our desire is to provide excellence in arts training, and a Christian atmosphere that nurtures the development of talents in children, youth and adults. Lessons in piano, guitar, drums, woodwinds, and brass are being offered; instruction on other instruments and for vocalist may be available upon request.
"We are excited to inivite our community and friends to pioneer a new adventure into the arts - specifically the world of music. No other medium transcends culture and life as music can." say Pastor Danny Schaffner.
Common Ground Academy of the Arts will be led and under the direction of Stan Wilkerson, local artist and Director of Creative Arts at Common Ground. Stan has been blessed to perform with Wynton Marsalis, Yo-Yo Ma, Dave Brubeck, Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder and many more. (Please click here to find more info about Stan Wilkerson.)
